The Third Annual Taste for the Arts, a weekend festival of fine arts
and crafts, will be held this weekend in downtown Hermann Missouri.
Sample wine from Hermann of Vineyards while you stroll the grounds of the Hofgarten and enjoy a unique collection of award-winning artwork.
Music will be provided by the Michelle DeFabio Jazz Trio, Pik’n Lik’n
Blueglass, and the Hilary Scott Band. See
http://www.tasteforthearts.org/music.asp for the music schedule and
more information.
Hermann is located just an hour and a half from St Louis on highway
70. If you’ve got a little more time for a scenic drive, take either
highway 94 west from St Charles or highway 100 west from Wildwood.
Once you’re in town, head downtown, you can’t miss us. We’re just one
block from the AMTRAK station (take the train for as little as $28
round trip!) and across the street from the Tin Mill Brewing Company,
the only true lager microbrewery in the state of Missouri.
Nestled along the banks of the Missouri River, the City of Hermann is
the perfect setting for one of central Missouri’s premier art fairs.
Hermann is a picturesque German Community offering Old-World
hospitality and the quiet charms of an earlier time. With an abundance
of spectacular views, more than 150 historic buildings, quaint inns,
and B&Bs, world class wineries, museums, shops and galleries, and fine
dining, Hermann is the perfect place for a weekend retreat. Enjoy the
“Charisma of the Geography” that endears Hermann to both residents and
visitors alike. It is a perfect getaway not far from home!
A Taste for the Arts will be held Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June
7, 2009 from 10AM to 5PM both days. The event is free and open to the
public and will feature fine arts, fine crafts, and food, all made in
Missouri. The Missouri Artisans Association, better known as The Best
of Missouri Hands, is coordinating the weekend of activities which is
being made possible by a grant from The Dierberg Educational
Foundation. All events will be held rain or shine. A variety of food
and beverage options will be available for sale throughout the
festival.
