We have a couple of general questions about our team that some are asking so will get those answered now.
Question from Meredith in Town and Country:
Is one of your websites the stlrealestate.com website?
Hello Meredith! No it is not. Any websites or blogs that we have or are affiliated with will always be in our linkroll on this blog. Thanks.
Question from Thomas in Clayton:
Why do agents switch companies and why do so many open their own real estate business?
Hi Thomas. Agents switch companies for a multitude of reasons. The most common reasons are: not getting any support from their broker, not having the same values as the company who represents them, not having a proper system in place to best serve their clients. Agents switch companies to find the right fit for them just like anyone else. A lot of them will open their own if they can’t find a suitable company to hang their hat at. What you have to remember is that agents are not employees of a broker, but rather work in conjunction with them. Agents should look at themselves as business owners and should do whatever is necessary to build their business and run it with integrity. It can take time for an agent to find a good fit.
Question from Janice in CWE:
I am an agent who just switched companies again and I now realize this is not the place for me. What do I do?? I see that you have been at more than one company and just wondered what I should do. This is now my 5th company and I don’t want to have to switch again, but have a problem with how things are run at this company. I jumped out of one fire and into another. It seems every company has horrible people to deal with.
Hi Janice. I am sorry that you are having a hard time finding a good company. It can be very disheartening and we actually hear this a lot so chin up. Have you tried going to that broker and telling them your issues and what you need? I would first give that a shot if you haven’t already and if their responses then tell you that you need to leave then maybe that’s what you should do. Look online and find all the real estate companies in this area….go talk to at least 3 of them. Tell them what you need to grow your business and ask if they can deliver that. Or you could always contemplate opening your own company. If you cannot communicate with your broker openly than it can hurt your business. Its very important to have that. Feel free to email me and I will help you in any way I can.
That’s all for now, but we will be answering more this week and covering some consumer questions about real estate.
You are being so diplomatic with these. I will say it. Agents move around because the majority of broker’s are slimy. They make agents look honest. Sorry Pam, but you know how I feel about most agents. You are the exception to the rule.
